Zombie Loz Origin (Fluffy Angst Version)
(Continuity? We don' need no stinkin' continuity! XD)
It didn't hurt any more. That was something. It had hurt an awful lot, to the point that he couldn't deal with it, which was unusual. He hadn't wanted to fuzz out like that, not with Yazoo so upset and hovering over him. That was unusual too.
Yazoo had been... afraid, and speaking faster than usual, and the words had all blurred together. Yazoo hadn't wanted him to go; he could remember that much. It had confused him. Loz remembered trying to tell him to slow down and that it was okay because he wasn't going anywhere, but it had been really hard to say anything at all. He'd tried taking his brother's hand instead, but couldn't remember if he'd succeeded in either attempt. The pain had started to subside then, and that had been such a relief that he'd closed his eyes and just listened to Yazoo's voice and...
He couldn't remember anything after that.
Until now.
There was something covering him, and it was heavy. It took a bit to shift and gain enough leverage to shove whatever it was off.
Rocks. Why the hell was he covered in rocks? Lots of rocks, and not small ones, either. Over his head and everything. It didn't make any sense.
He finally freed himself enough to sit up, and rubbed his head, feeling rather dizzy. And hungry. And very stiff - not sore, but his movements were slowed. Have to work on that. He blinked, looking around, dazed.
It was dark, and he was sitting in a pile of rocks, sheltered by an outcropping in the forest. He tilted his head back, staring up at the crescent moon for what felt like a long time before a cloud passed over it and he remembered to look away.
There was something wrong with the moon... Oh yeah. It had been a new moon before. Now it was waxing. Huh... he must've been out for a couple of days.
Why had his brother left him here alone, though? That wasn't right. Yazoo wouldn't leave him if he was hurt, ever...
Unless something had happened to Yazoo.
He unsteadily got to his feet, trying to compensate for his inexplicably slow movement. Had to get up, had to find Yazoo. Must've gotten messed up pretty bad, if he was moving like this but not in pain for it. Didn't matter now. He was getting over it, obviously.
...Though maybe he could find something to eat on the way.
