I finally gave in. I sold out. I joined the cult.
But I'm still pretty excited about it.

In other news, I had read about the Buddha Machine a while back in one of those free magazines that they have at the record store, and was really fascinated. Then just last week I read a review of it in Pitchfork, and decided I had to get it. I got mine in ( Read more... )

Ahhh so you've joined the cult! One of us... one of us... one of us...

Sorry. But iPods are pretty cool. So much music in one small device... so many possibilities. The best part is I even saw a homeless guy on the metro listening to an iPod. Or he at least had the white headphones on.

I guess I just never felt the need for it before. But I've been borrowing Julie's little flash MP3 player every time I go to the gym, and I figured if I was gonna spend $100 on a little one, I might as well just go ahead and get a real one.

Don't worry; I think you can own it without joining the cult. The cult is mostly made up of journalists who feel that every edition of a paper in America needs to have an article on how Ipod is transforming our modern lives. Sigh. Annoying.

But they are handy. I love using shuffle. It's like radio drawn only from my personal music collection.

I've always been a shuffle/random fan, too, so I'm pretty excited about the range of possibilities shuffling all my stuff, as opposed to just 3 CDs or whatever.
