The difficult task of buying SMAP-related stuff in Austria

I'm really desperate for SMAP-related stuff, if I go to such length as to buy anything as long as it has anything to do with SMAP at all… But, in fact, in Austria one cannot be too choosy concerning JE-stuff in general, because the chances of finding anything Japanese are already slim, so the chances of getting something from our beloved JEs is ( Read more... )

Well, in Portugal finding something related to JE is practically impossible. I never saw anything (CD/DVD/magazine/whatever) about my dear SMAP in any stores. *sigh* The only option is to buy on the net, but then the shipping expenses are so BIGGGGGGG that it's better forget about it *double sigh*

About the movies... I never saw Sukiyaki Western Django but Hauru is great. I got so sad and mad when I discovered that the movie didn't win the oscar (Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was the winner and I really don't like this film) *triple sigh*
Hayao Miyazaki's movies always have a deep message and the plots are quite unique and interesting. Captain did a nice job as Hauru. I have to buy this movie when I get to Macau ^^

I guess we are in nearly the same situation concerning our limited ways to purchase JE stuff...

When I was in Japan in February, thankfully I could buy a lot of merchandise (mainly CDs, a few DVDs and magazines ^^), but in Europe those things simply aren't available.
I agree with you that buying on the internet is rather expensive, but I was really baffled when in Tokyo I found out that new CDs usually have a price between 3.000 ~ 3.500 Yen (thats roughly 30€!!) and DVDs easily cost 7.000 Yen (if it's a concert DVD). So in relation ordering via Internet isn't that expensive anymore, even counting the shipping expenses.
I was really lucky that my friend and I found a 2nd-hand-CD/DCD/Book-Shop called BOOK OFF - if you get to Japan, you definitely have to go to one of those shops- they are awsome! In one BOOK OFF I got the B-Album(LE) from KinKi Kids - their debut album - for just 500 Yen!

It's a shame that Wallace & Gromit won the Oscar when a Hayao Miyazaki movie was a nominee as well... Hollywood is corrupted...
