Gratitude for Love and Kitties

I notice many times that my kitties have been looking at me, even when I'm lost in thought or self pity or whatever. They have been watching my face in a relaxed way. Perhaps they've been on the verge of a nap or some other feline unconscious state... Even if they've fallen asleep, they awaken when I make any sound or movement. I'm astounded that

Cats are really something else, aren't they? When I was about the same age, my gray tabby was basically my best friend around the house.

Yeah, they are lovely little companions. I think that many animals possess the capacity for empathy, and we benefit from that, greatly. :-)

I saw a documentary about how they could bring in this especially friendly breed of cats into a nursing home and the cats would calm down the people who were agitated or whatever was stressing them out... This was 20 years ago, when I had become agnostic in college. I was so moved by the effect of the cats that I thought that if there was any god at all in the universe, then This was the god manifesting her or himself.

But, I'm kind of a sucker like that-lol!
