The Jungle Book Effect (part 7)

Mar 29, 2008 01:01

The smells and sounds of the hospital terrified Forrest beyond belief. He clutched to the back of Jacks jacket and wouldn’t let him go for all the marshmallows and cereal in the world. The strange pelts he was dressed in where making him squirm uncomfortably and the trainers didn’t feel half as comfy as his Elric boots where. He didn’t understand ( Read more... )

I'm really enjoying your story, but I've been bad about commenting. Forrest and the Elrics are cute and interesting. I look forward to hearing more about how Forrest ended up with the Elrics, even though it's bound to be sad. You're doing a good job of showing our world through the eyes of the Elrics. It's funny and touching.

One usage note: where you have "okie," I'd suggest "okay."

Thank you for the comment. ^^ It's not too nice how he ended up with them, but hopefully everything will turn out fine.
Yeah I know about the "okie" but it's a really hard habit to break DX. Sorry about that.

It was sweet, the way Forrest was being adored by the people in the hospital. Although the AN at the end bothered me a bit, to be honest- I was raised in the "traditional" way, so that might be why it's bugging me so much

He's an oddity, people are either afraid of them or find them simply adorable. ><
What do you mean it bothered you? which bit, as the bit about elderly people was only a joke. If it offends I'll take it down o.0. Sorry.
I'm not sure what you mean by traditional. Sorry again. DX

I knoooooooooow ㅠ_ㅠ That's the problem- I know people mean it as a joke, but since I was raised to be obedient to the elders and the authorities. Making a joke about them, even in a light and humorous way, or being disrespectful to people of higher position (as mentioned beforehand), that kind of thing still grates against my sensibilities... (even though I'm still one of the more "radical" ones considering the upbringing, a child is bound to soak up some things.)
So while the majority of my generation (which includes you :D) grew up more freely than the previous ones, I was still raised to respect authority at all times and never talk back on any occasion, all that. I'm just an oddity, I suppose O-O

I do respect my elders, so much so that I won't tell my mother how I really feel about her leaving my little brother in my care seeing as she brought me into this word. In her words "I brought you here, I can take you out as well."
Sometimes though, you just need to loosen up. ^^

If it really bothers you, I'll take it down, true to my word.
