It started without any fanfare. The band members had been wandering on and off finishing setting up the stage. Michael was in his usual good spirits, blowing a hooter at the audience and giving a cheery smile and wave. Every show on the tour? Holy shit, you'd have no ears left. You'd probably get some kind of internal bleeding. ;D

But yeah, you've already read my thoughts on it. I found it really interesting to read yours; you definitely had a different experience.

It's strange. Both that Jarboe show at the Scala we both saw awhile back at the Angels of Light show with Gira and Akron/Family were both very, very scary and intense and both rank as two of the best shows I've ever seen but last night left me totally cold. :(

I wasn't blown away by that Angels of Light show, but the Jarboe show at the Scala has been very much in the front of mind. I know it wouldn't, couldn't, work with the direction she's gone in now, and that it really would be a nostalgia act then, but I'd still love to see her on stage with Gira again.

I dunno, that Angels of Light show was incredible to me - just the perfect mix of psychedelic noise and pop harmonies. ;D

I think Jarboe was "missing" from the new Swans line-up for me. I think they need her to temper just the non-stop rage and noise.

So glad you had a good time :-) I have read mixed reviews of this tour, and I am fairly sure I would have hated it! But it sounds like you got so much out of this, I hope they play again soon :-)
