Oh my Chloe, it has been 5 months! *hugs* I will entertain you with the stories from African films my family has become addicted to lately. The acting isn't half bad, but it's the plots that are the real clinchers.
Anyway, Seattle sounds fab. Pick up some Starbucks while you're there. Nothing like the original, eh?
I'm off to do an assignment for Professor Cleary. Yes, I've been holding out on you, not telling you I have him. LOL.
And also to think about writing about why working in a religious institution is like a living death. Seriously, I like my job, but the whole religion thing is really bumming me out.
Back to Seattle, I've always wanted to go ever since I read some book by Beverly Cleary. No, not It's Me God, Margaret. I know you were thinking that. I am currently reading Uncle Tom's Cabin, written around the same time period as those Austen/Bronte novels (I'm guessing, don't sue me!) and I'm shocked I can stomach it. Ever tried to read Austen/Bronte? *dies*
I'm actually a big sap for Jane Austen. "Emma" is a wonderfully witty book. I mean, "Clueless" is based on it!
And as for Bronte, that was almost my name. My mother's favorite book is "Jane Eyre" and wanted to pay tribute to her favorite author. could you imagine? Bronte Dinnerrolly? Luckily, I was named after a character in a Dudley Moore movie, instead. NO JOKE. And I think that background story is more fitting.
I've never read Uncle Tom's Cabin, though. But I do know that it caused quite an uproar in the confederate south back in the day.
why didn't you tell me you had cleary? are you taking creative writing with him? if so, if one day you feel like speaking, tell him I said, "Hello"
