I was raised in a Disciples of Christ Christian church and family. For a while I went through my "there is no god cause I'm unhappy" phase, but I finally realized that I was fooling myself and I went back to practicing Christianity and my life has only gotten better since. That whole last statement sounds kind of freaky coming from me, but it's true.
I believe that there is a God because he always comes through for me when I believe and when I worship. But, that doesn't mean I don't agree with other people's religions too, I won't bash anyone. I have just as much respect for someone who's a Buddhist as for someone who is an Agnostic. I believe religion is a deeply personal choice and I'm not one of those people who tries to convert people or tell them they are going to hell if they don't believe in Jesus. I'm only accountable for me. Hope that answers a little bit of your question.
I was first brought up in a Baptist church, but about four years ago my dad and I switched to a Wesleyan church. I've attended school at a private Christian school since pre-k (three different schools in three different states, however), so Bible class has always been in my life as well as attending church every Sunday. I have a few friends who aren't Christian. I have a friend who is from India and I can't remember what she is (it was some weird name, I can tell you that she's not Hindu or Muslim) but I respect her beliefs. If I have the chance of teaching people who want to know about God and the Bible I'll gladly do it, but I just find it hard to just start up something like that at some random moment to an Atheist or Wiccan or whatever, which is why I don't feel that I'm being called to be a missionary to a foreign country, at least not at this time.
But I'm always curious about other peoples' religions, whether I agree with their beliefs or think they (the beliefs) are pretty retarded. :P
