it might sound silly, but maybe investing in a new smoke detector might ease your nerves? on another note, phantom odors can be a sign of a more serious medical condition--consult your doctor if you notice the smells away from home as well.

Sigh, I'd have to get health insurance and a PCP first, but I'll work on that. Need to take better care of myself and all that crap.

FYI I miss you. If I come back to visit soon, let's please hang out.

Try to go see her. From my experience, I think you'll regret it if you don't. Anyway it's one thing you can address and doing so might help with some of the other stuff. <3

Dude, in my experience I'll regret it if I don't, this has already happened to me before. But it's not simple to just buy a couple of plane tickets and fly six hours cross-country just to see my dog.

Sucks, I'm sorry :/. Sadie is getting suuuuuper old, I realized it last time I was at my parents house, and I was instantly like "omg i need to come see her more :(". Sucks that she is so far away :/. When would be the soonest you could see her if you didn't go this winter?

I've been going during the end of March or April so far, which is a pretty decent time to go generally, but I also don't think I'll be able to afford to stay unemployed for that long. If I get a job it'll be a lot harder to take a trip to NY after just being hired, so. It's probably either winter or next summer.
