It Won't Be Long

Hera, are you alright? I went to the apartment--if you can call it that, but you were not there. I assume you managed to find safe haven, away from the fire. At least have the decency to call, so I know you haven't been harmed ( Read more... )

If you find who out who is responsible, you're more than welcome to help.

My investigation skills may need brushing up but I'd be happy to try my lord; it did touch all of us after all even if I was off killing somebody throughout.

I'll keep my eyes open for our mystery arsonist's accoutrements. With any manner of luck, he'll be located in no time.

You're sure it was a man?

Now that you mention it, I'll be needing my own accoutrements--the kind that are hard to come by, nearly impossible to obtain. Though for you, it shouldn't be a problem.

No, I merely defaulted to a male pronoun for grammar's sake. A female perpetrator is as likely as any.

Hard to come by? Do tell.

I want weapons that belong to the United States military. Obviously they're heavily protected, but I've got blue prints for the largest weapons base in the region, passwords, codes, etc. Getting in shouldn't be a problem, it's getting out that concerns me.

I'd rather you not tell me how I'm being to my daughter, Thetis. Poseidon does it enough for the both of you.

And you really think I wouldn't keep an eye on her? Persephone yearned for independence so I'll let her have it. I guarantee it won't last long; you said it yourself, she's very young in mind.

Are you seeking an argument Thetis, again? The only difference is that this time my daughter is your excuse. You are free of Peleus, and your son is among the living once more.

How easily you throw your support behind Poseidon, treacherous as he is. Have you forgotten how he deceived Hephaestus? Making the poor boy believe Athena wanted more than friendship--and for what reason? To boost his ego after losing Athens. How about when he attempted to overthrow my rule? If it wasn't for you, he very well might have succeeded. So you see, my suspicion was not unfounded.

Back to the topic at hand; I won't deny my temper got the better of me, and the situation was handled poorly--but you, Thetis, are underestimating Persephone--her naiveté is certainly her downfall, but she is not incapable of learning on her own. After all she adjusted beautifully to life in the Underworld, and became a fearsome and cunning Queen. I for one am glad to know what she is capable of, and even more thrilled that maturity will not be forced upon her by ( ... )
