Haven't posted in a while; been busy on the work side with... well, work, and upstarting mine and Brian's charity for the Holidays: we're making exclusive material for a DVD of our YouTube material and selling it for $15, with all proceeds going to Toys for Tots. Just getting companies to sign on for the project has been a bitch. We've got Ronald ( Read more... )

What interface changes did they make to Rock Band 2? What I want is no more band leader, and also the ability to add and drop players AFTER you've selected the song. So that you don't have to keep backing through the menus to add and drop the singer.

In the reviews for the game, I'v never seen anything about how the interface has changed, and that for me was the biggest concern, because that's about all I have against the game. The interface got to be annoying at parties. So if you could give me a quick rundown of how it's changed, that would be awesome.

Band leader is gone. The online band tour is very fun, me and my buddy went through the 5 hardest songs in the game and they were INCREDIBLY tough (I struggled the most on Everlong, oddly enough my favorite song in the game). Thank god for online, dunno if I can clear those solo. Dunno about dropping band members, though, sorry.

Actually I've READ band leader is gone but the band was listed under my character.... Dunno, then. Wish I could tell ya exactly, but alas, broken drums have soured me on the game.

Spore is fun, but also incredibly frustrating at times. I'm in the Space part, and the game would be about 50 times better if you could find a planet in a list and "set course" or something. As is, unless I'm missing something, I have to scan 50 surrounding planets to find the weird, 15-letter name of the one I want.

Also, the constant skirmishes are incredibly annoying. Some automated defenses for your planets would be lovely, outside of the turrets which don't do enough damage.

Could not agree more. I have around 25 planets in my empire now, so I'm like "eh, fuck it" when pirates attack. If they claim the planet, I'll nuke them and reclaim it.

What's your name there? I'll add you to my buddies. I'm the same as here.

I don't even worry about the pirates; I read that they just steal one spice at most, so who cares? The bigger issue with me is a fairly aggressive race right near me, the Trogg. They're not the asshole race that apparently guards the center of the universe, but they're bad enough. I only have about four or five planets in my empire so far, so I can't really go and crush them, or raise enough cash to buy their alliance.

I'm also using an "evaluation copy" right now, so you'll have to wait a bit until you can add me. I might buy a real copy tonight though. The issue is that I have to borrow my mom's laptop to play, since it runs at a crawl on my desktop, and the space stage won't run at all.

As an addition to this, I find space combat INCREDIBLY tedious. It's friggin' hard to target and destroy stuff, since it zips around too quickly for me to click on.
