Currently Watching: Fringe: Season 1

I'm using this icon because it's always been one of my favorite icons that I've made and it is FMA, but, now... it seems too sad for the wonderful life Edward ultimately earned.

Yep, I finally finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood just a little ( Read more... )

I went ahead and took the leap-o-spoiler and read all of this and clicked the pic link. Gotta say, I'm happy with this wrap-up and ending too. <3 Always wanted good things for the Elric brothers!! I started watching FMA Brotherhood while I had access to Netflix - didn't ever get to see past I think the 5th or so episode. :/ Good stuff though, from what I saw! And yay for happy/well tied up endings. :)

I hope you get to see the rest some day! It's not until the Xingese characters show up that the show completely diverges from the original series to follow the manga path. I believe that's around episode 15 or so.

I don't want to give up any spoilers, but Ed did, of course, have to give up something in order to get his brother back and live happily ever after. But, in the grand scheme of happiness, it was a small price to pay, really.

Sorry to jump in here, but if you have access to Hulu, the whole series can be seen there. I think it's only the subtitled version, though - there are some of the dubbed version, but not the whole thing.

FMA:Brotherhood is one of the only anime I've watched in the past couple of years, and I enjoyed it immensely. I'm glad you did, too. I love the fact that we actually had a shonen anime/manga with such kickass female characters. It's rather rare, and quite refreshing.

Well, I said I wouldn't backtrack and make comments - you'll probably miss this one - but I had to say "Hooray!!" I'm glad you liked it. I have nothing more to add because you already said it all for me. I've got the series on my Amazon wish list, along with several others I want (I've been that awake today, for a change).

"the usual nilistic madness that anime endings are prone to" - you know how much I hate nihilism, and this is so true. To the point where I usually prefer to know the ending before I begin a series, too.
