I still haven't made peace with the ending of the book and I'm sure the movie won't help my conflict, but at least I'll get to enjoy all the prettiness.
It is my first time through - it's been sitting on my Books I Have to Read Before I Die list for awhile now, but made it's way to the top when I got a strip through work. I finished it this morning and I think I liked it. I think I will read the next two since I obtained them at the same time. It gives you a lot to think about... but not in an annoying, allegory way like Pi.
Card has his own annoyances (like every plot's foundation having similarities I'm not sure I should reveal, but which happen even more in some of his non-Ender books), but less allegorical at least. I liked Ender's Game much more than the sequels, but they are interesting.
