DESMOND IS SPECIAL BECAUSE HE GETS TO DIE FOR THE ISLAND OR SOMETHING. IDK MAYBE I'M PARANOID BUT I'D RATHER BE PARANOID AND WRONG THAN NOT SUSPECT A THING.

Also, if Sun had been a little HBIC-ier in the alternate timeline, she and Mikhail could have had an awesome spy vs. spy kind of spinoff or something.
