In the Philip Pullman books he suggests something to do with conciousness. There is 'Dust' in the novels which attaches itself to all human life. It comes at adolesence since I guess children are still developing. He didn't go into it that much, since it is a less than adult novel and it merely facilitated his story, but he brought in body mind and soul with the daemons stuff and the change in human evolution (when conciousness started) that caused the Dust. So yeah, theres another idea, not mine, but its out there.
I read that series :) Really liked some of it, and I really disliked other parts of it... Thanks for responding by the way, I wasn't sure if I'd scared everyone off :S How are you??
Haha, I'm just fine, busy of course but good. Another term another year. I may not contemplate conciousness often but I'm still reading your stuff :D. Merry Christmas and all that, not that we have any snow.
I should be busy, but I've been procrastinating on my thesis... are you planning on going to Grad school in Waterloo? If so, I might see you... right now it's my top choice for grad school, so it depends where I get in (if I get in :).
Have a Merry Christmas to you too... maybe we'll have snow next year :)
Actually Waterloo doesn't have a Classics Grad course. I want to go to Toronto. I could commute it then and not have to pay for a place to stay or food and get meals cooked for me, see Jacob and my family lots and snuggle with my cat. Lots of fun there :D. I have to start on the actual applications now since they're due end of January for me. So scary.
LOL, I'm always glad to help :) And if they somehow don't let you in... well, I wasn't a professional thug for nothing! :P Oh... you could also throw in Big Chief Danny, make it sound more official!
