Even though I had a four day weekend for the Fourth of July, I didn't end up seeing any movies in theatres because the new films that weekend were rather uninspiring. I tried to catch Mud in a second-run theatre but the times on the website did not agree with the times at the house, so that failed. So here's something I watched on TV.

Regarding Pacific Rim, despite the cool visuals, I don't think I can watch it after reading a review that points out that there are literally no other female characters (Vulture review). It's getting pretty frustrating to be a lady these days...

Hah, I just read that. It's 100% true. Maybe if you don't expect anything, you'll be less disappointed, but yeah, can't blame anyone for skipping it on that account.
