The Butler is one of those movies that I thought was quite decent, but it was because of the subject matter and not because of the movie itself. The whole thing was so heavy handed, and it just felt like these jarring jumps from one major historical moment to the next. I know it was a LOT of material to cover in a single movie, but it didn't feel like a story so much as a history lesson at times.
