So has anyone ever listened to the song Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright? I was just listening to it and I got a whole S&M vibe off it. I mean really; "Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you. She tied you to a kitchen chair she broke your throne, she cut your hair and from your lips she drew the Hallelujah" whether taken literally or figuratively

Cohen wrote it. Wainwright - like Sheryl Crow, k.d. lang, and assorted others over the decades - was doing a cover.

Ah cool. I just happened to have Shrek soundtrack mixed into my randomized play list so that's the version I heard. Still its interesting to learn its based on bible verses. Not surprising then the S&M feel to it.
