same here (except no wife :) ) I know and admit freely that ttrpg is my favourite thing to spend time doing. I love my games, I love my characters! But ... when I posted the original post I was really really sad because I had had an argument with a friend. That argument became quiet fierce because I was (we both were :) ) so invested. We were both hurt. And I am sorry for hurting him. But in the heat of it I didn't realise that thing went out of hand. I wanted him to understand that controll of the character's creation process is important to me.
I was (at time of posting) not sure if it is appropriate for "an adult" to lose her cool over ... a game.
