Give me back my language,
let me speak the tongue you taught me.
I will lie the great lies in your honor...

Oh. I like this. It adds such nicer depth to Carson.

This is really wonderful. I love the glimpse into Carson's brain. It feels very true to his character.

Interesting idea - I wonder if John has the same reaction?

Beautiful - I love your way with words.

I suspect that there are a few folks who notice the moment between gates - and just are too far between that they've never found each other. (One of those 'no one else is talking about it, it must just be me' things.) I dunno if John would notice, he seems very 'action oriented' and would maybe be thinking more about the other side, to stop and notice the traveling moment.

Actually, the link I was thinking of is the ATA gene. Possibly the genetic deviation from "normal human" are enough to trigger a difference in the way one perceives Gatespace/hyperspace/whatever.

Oh - I was thinking it was a matter of just mental awareness - like someone who meditates, or does yoga, or such like that, would be more likely to be aware of the moment of travel. Or more likely to be aware there is a moment between gates, and imagine things to put into that space. ;-)

Thanks. :-) I was listening to Enya's How Can I Keep From Singing and just started writing, free asociation-esque, from the quote and got this. It was totally unplanned.

God... everything that made it true. Ohh, right there.

Just, I, aaugh. Like shivering when it's hot outside. That's what this makes me think of.

Mmmmm. I'm completely incoherent, but, yeah. And the way it connects to the LeGuin quote only increases the beauty.

I'm just gonna sit here and wallow in the atmosphere of this for a bit.
