Yes! I am no longer the only person I know who needed a 3.5 inch floppy disk to finish my Windows XP installation! I needed one to install the drivers for my raid controller, which for whatever reason could ONLY be installed from a floppy disk.
I honestly have no clue whatsoever why this is the case for some drivers. Why can't you just use a DVD/USB drive? Do theycjust hate modern computers and the destruction of their beloved floppy?
In my case I think it was because the RAID drivers had to be installed before anything else. Which I guess makes sense seeing as how the RAID needs to be setup so that Windows can then be installed onto it... but if my BIOS can fucking boot from a CD I demand to know why I needed the fucking floppy drive.
My own installation has recently come across a hiccup, the audio drivers seem to have a problem with when they were installed, which may mean I have to do everything again.
