Title: Distractions 101
Pairing: Daehyun/Youngjae; daejae
Rating: PG
Length: 400+ words
Summary: (prompt:) Daehyun is willing to do whatever it takes to get a reluctant Youngjae to join his acapella singing group
A/N: for yubat, originally here.

"I’ll… buy you an ice cream?” Daehyun tries with a hesitant smile. He receives a glare and a raised eyebrow in return, “comes on, Youngjae. Vanilla. Three scoops.”

Silence.

“…Four scoops?”

It looks like a lost battle if he has to be honest. Youngjae is stubborn, but Daehyun even more so, he has to be. He refuses to give up. He needs Youngjae in his acapella group. No that’s not right, he needs Youngjae’s voice. Not Youngjae himself.

Okay. Maybe Youngjae. But that doesn’t matter, because he still has a great voice and- shit, he’s walking away.

He grabs the younger by his arm. He doesn’t know what to say; he’s already tried coaxing him with flattering words and food. What else is there?

They’re about fight as Youngjae goes on about how annoying he is by being this persistent, that he should leave him alone and- Daehyun can’t really concentrate when he’s talking like that, lips pursed and eyes wide open, and he thinks about how easily it would be to shut him up by kissing him. But he doesn’t do it. He doesn’t want to die. He has a nice circle of friends, great and accepting parents and the whole world before him. It’s too early to die. Even if it’s Youngjae.

Maybe he should risk it anyway.

“Daehyun!” He shakes his head, trying to concentrate on what the other is saying and how he seems like he’s about to hit him, because he has obviously caught on to how Daehyun started to drift off.

He hesitates, deciding that the safest thing to do is not to anger him any further. He is venturing dangerous territory.

Youngjae waits, patiently, for a reply.

He really doesn’t know what to say, mind completely blank. Maybe he really just should kiss him.

Something inside Daehyun’s mind clicks.

“If I don’t kiss you, will you join?”

Youngjae looks at him incredulously, but the threat seems to work. He’s not quite sure if he’s happy about that. It’s beside the point though, because it’s working.

“If I kiss you, will you shut up about me joining your stupid choir?” Daehyun is about to answer when he realizes exactly what came out of the other’s mouth, which in fact, happens to be pressed against his.

He was right, Youngjae does really have soft lips.

He has just begun kissing back when Youngjae pulls back, a questioning look on his face, waiting.

Daehyun smirks, “maybe if you kiss me again?”

Youngjae rolls his eyes and turns around to leave the room again. He doesn’t stop him this time. There’s no need to when he can join his side.

Title: Knock Knock (Who's There?)
Pairing: Suho/Sehun; seho
Rating: G
Length: 300+ words
Summary: (prompt:) Sehun is a first year in college and Joonmyun is his dorm advisor. Sehun purposefully stirs up trouble all the time just to see him
A/N: for kelly, originally here.

The dorms are quiet.

Not because the students are sleeping, but because most of them are studying, having delayed the making of their homework to the very last hour and minute.

At the end of the hall though, there’s the faint (not so faint) sound of a booming bass, echoing through the thin walls and doors.

There’s a knock.

There’s another knock.

The last one is really just Joonmyun slamming his hand against the door.

It’s almost amazing how bored Sehun looks when he opens it, as if he can’t hear the loud music playing at all. When he asks Joonmyun why he’s here, he feels like he’s been played with and he’s a little bit beyond annoyed, but he doesn’t show it when he tells Sehun, “the others are complaining."

The younger doesn’t even blink. Joonmyun waits for a response, but he just shrugs.

"Tell them to wear plugs or something." Joonmyun huffs.

"Really? Plugs? Oh Sehun, really?"

Sehun shrugs again, so he tries something else, “why don’t you-" he pauses, taking in a breath, “just turn the music down?"

The other tilts his head, a glint in his eyes as if the answer is obvious and he’s just waiting for Joonmyun to figure it out.

Joonmyun sighs, relaxing his shoulders. He looks tired.

"Sehun," his sounds tired too, and the boy squirms, “aren’t you tired of this? It’s been months. Why can’t you just behave?" he hesitates with the last word, not completely sure of his choice of word.

Sehun contemplates, his gaze falling to the ground. He says, voice slightly weak, “if I behaved, you wouldn’t come see me."

"What?" Joonmyun asks confused. Sehun blushes, realising that he couldn’t hear him through the music playing in his room.

"I wanted to see you," he says a little louder without looking at Joonmyun face. The older is quiet, weighing the meaning of the words inside his head.

"So like an eight year old, you decided to annoy me to get my attention." Sehun’s cheeks turn a deeper shade of red.

"Well… Yeah," he admits. Joonmyun smiles.

"Cute," he says, causing Sehun to smack the door shut at his face. He knocks at the door one more time.

"You have my attention now," he shouts a little too loudly, “but you still need to turn down the music!"

Title: Level Up
Pairing: none
Rating: G
Length: 400+ words
Summary: (prompt:) VIXX are video game characters who suddenly end up in the real world
A/N: for daeanthus, originally written on my tumblr here.

Taekwoon is 90% certain that Hakyeon has got it wrong when he asks the homeless man on the street where they can buy a healing elixir for Hongbin, who tripped and sprained his ankle when he was jumping on one of the boxes on the other side of the building in order to get the items inside.

(Nothing came out though, much to their disappointment.)

“What if we do a quest for you?” Hakyeon tries to offer enthusiastically, realising that the man probably doesn’t have any items himself.

(Not realising that the man probably doesn’t have any idea of what he’s talking about.)

“A quest?” the man asks, and Hakyeon nods eagerly, waving the others closer. Taekwoon stays put, a little further back than the others, who are surrounding the stranger now, Hongbin with an arm around Sanghyuk’s shoulder and Jaehwan’s waist for support.

“Yes!” he replies happily, “tell us, we can do it for sure! All we want in return is the location of a market so we can heal our comrade and restock our inventory.”

The homeless man scratches his stubble as if he’s thinking, and Taekwoon thinks they might have run into a trickster. He probably should tell Hakyeon and the others this, but he doubts he’s able to convince the stubborn team leader, so he looks away instead, watching his surroundings.

(He’s standing too far from them anyway. He would have to shout and he doesn’t want to strain his voice.)

They’re at a harbour, which is quite a different landscape from the previous one. The level prior to this had been completely different. The thing is, VIXX isn’t an adventure game, but this looks quite like one, but Hakyeon seems to have caught on to that at least, so he doesn’t complain. The graphic is much better in this world anyway.

His attention is back at Hakyeon when the other suddenly exclaims that they’re off to fill the quest for the homeless man, walking away with fast steps as he momentarily forgets about Hongbin’s bad leg.

Taekwoon doesn’t think they’re supposed to use the car Wonshik finds somewhere down the road considering the strange (and annoying and really loud) sounds it’s making.

A man is approaching them, waving a set of keys in his hand while exclaiming that “hey that’s my car!” so Sanghyuk is fast to step out of the car to grab the keys and throws them to them, bowing and thanking the man before he joins them again in the backseat.

Taekwoon is now 100% certain that they have got it wrong, but he doesn’t say anything, leaning back in his seat as they drive off.

(Walking is too tiresome.)

Title: untitled #2
Pairing: none
Rating: G
Length: 300+ words
Summary: (prompt:) Leo and N (or any other VIXX members) in a daycare!au
A/N: for prescilla, originally written on my tumblr here.

When Hakyeon had met Taekwoon for the first time, he had seemed like a very quiet and introvert man. Shy, too, he would say. Not the ideal type for the job as an intern at a day care, and he had asked himself (and almost his boss too) why he had been accepted for the job.

Hakyeon could really need the extra pair of hands; it’s not easy to be in charge of a rather large group of kids when some of the others at the day care (Wonshik) decide to nap with the only obedient child or disappear for hours (Jaehwan) after tricking some of the kids to play hide and seek only for them to give up a couple of minutes later.

Hakyeon had tried to talk to Taekwoon again on the second day, asked him what he thought of the day care and the kids, but he had been withdrawn then too, giving him a short reply before returning to drinking his coffee, looking elsewhere.

The kids though, the boys especially, like him. A lot. Even if his nearly constant frown might be a bit intimidating, his big body seems to intrigue the curious children. They cling on him (literally), asking him why and how he has such a giant body and muscles. Taekwoon gives them a shy smile in return, telling them to eat and drink healthily. The boys nods, mouths agape.

Hakyeon laughs at the table beside them, playing cards with some of the other kids. The boy hanging on Taekwoon’s arm turns his attention to him and asks if Hakyeon eats “bad food" because he’s so thin.

He acts offended, exclaiming that he’s plenty strong even if he doesn’t look like it, but is quick to return to his game when they want to climb his body as well. They point at him then, calling him a liar and Hakyeon continues to fight for his pride, but even Taekwoon is laughing now, and really, it’s no wonder the kids like him so much.

Taekwoon turns out to be a surprisingly capable intern.
