the "Because I said so" reasoning

When I was growing up, my mother's reason for every question I asked was "because I said so." As a result, I vowed, at a very young age, that if I ever had children that I would never use that as a reason if my kids asked me something. MiniPlu likes to pretend she's packing her bag (putting toys in a backpack) and going to Australia, so she can visit lissannej. :D Of course, that destination only got sweeter in her eyes when I told her the Wiggles lived there, too. :))

I don't see that "because I said so" is the wrong answer to "why?" - not everything has a clear-cut answer! :B

I personally think that the more often you can replace 'because i said so' with an actual reason, the better a child understands the surrounding world and how to deal with other people. Then again, I'm the oldest and suspect I got a lot more reasons than my sisters down the line did.
