Kids were sick. I was sick. Then kids got sick again. That's been my last 2 weeks in a nutshell. Oh, and this week, I helped my sister-in-law make 50 bridal shower favors, including the design and running around to get all the materials. They turned out great, and it was nice having someone besides the kids to talk with for a few days, but I'm glad ( Read more... )

Yes, that's the one :) He should be there now, and since it's relatively close, the kids and I may be heading out there later this week for a little R&R. Any suggestions of what we should see?

I'll let you know for sure if B, Baby J, and I will be there so maybe we can get together for lunch?

Woo! I have Wednesday and Saturday off for sure.

If you're coming out with the kids, there are tons of things to do:

COSI - Center of Science and Industry - very kid-friendly. www.cosi.org

Franklin Park Conservatory - lots of rooms with different flora & Chiuhly glass sculptures. Butterflies, too! www.fpconservatory.org

Ohio Historical Society - Indians! www.ohiohistory.org

There is a lot of info at www.experiencecolumbus.com, too!

Hope to see you! :)

I want her to grow up with the knowledge that she should question authority when she feels it's warranted ... I just don't want her questioning my authority!

LOL - yeah, that's the rub, isn't it?

Has D been to Miami to make sure he doesn't hate that, too? What did he dislike about CT so much?

Sorry for being late in replying. DSL sucks sometimes. As for D and Miami, he was there for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it ... and he didn't even get to see the good parts of it. he worked like a dog 12 out of the 13 days he was there, and when I picked him up at the airport, he looked fantastic and better than I'd seen him in months. He liked the people, the market (he sells home improvements), the pace, everything.

As for CT, he said it was like trying to sell to him: arrogant and stubborn. The cost of living is very high and a host of other issues. I think the final straw for him was when he was in an appointment for selling an air conditioning system. The woman had asked himhow air conditioning worked, and shortly after he started explainign what she had asked him to explain, she said, "You're boring me."

I'm hoping he likes Columbus.
