I got up at around 4:30am today for the second day running to go biking.
Now I remember how I was able to do it before.
It's cool. There's almost no cars. The Minute Man path is mostly empty. I'm almost completely in the shade the entire time.
There's a ritual to it. I want to be able to get out the door without having to think too much, so I have bike clothes, meds, water bottles, and Gu set up the night before. I wake up while it's still dark, or just barely starting to show light. It's quiet and dark and it's mine.
There's something deeply satisfying about this that I don't think I completely understand.
I've fixed my stupid bike seat.
I'm actually using most of the muscles in my legs now. I was feeling sore yesterday, so I decided to not try to do a hill today.
I did a straight up lap of the MM.
26.5 miles
14.8 mph average speed
It's on.
