three girls and myself have been invited by the social stuides head at my school to have an evening course in comparative political systems. each of us was assigned a specific "___ism" and we have to do five 1-hour long lectures and teach.

because the most frequent thing to come out of my mouth [other than, "i want to go to NAME OF FOREIGN CITY HERE!"] is "i'm fed up with america! i'm raising my children in a socialist country!" i was assigned capitalism. figures.

now technically of course this is an economic and not political system, but in the US, it really does shape the culture/society and therefore, the politics. so in short - reading this entry was great. it gave me a few ideas for how i want to present my first lecture :]
