Re: getting to WA: depending on when you need to go, taking a plane may not be that much more expensive. Greyhound Tucson-Spokane is $185+, Southwest Airlines is as low as $240 or so. Considering that it would be indeed a long-ass trip (about 2 days each way on Greyhound), you might consider the plane option. :)
