I admire your spirit of adventure! It's absolutely awesome that you are traveling both around the country for school and around the world for a real education. I didn't know what to do with myself in Idaho, so China would either be really freaky for me... or the most epic thing ever.

I have a friend who went and lived in Harbin for a time a few years back. She loved it and she loved the Harbin dialect, the proximity to Russia/Korea, visits to Dalian, etc. Despite the cold I'm sure you'll love it. :D
