Anyone know anything about deferring student loans?

It depends on who your federal loans are with. Most federal student loans can be deferred with requests on the website. If not, they usually have an 800 number you can call to request a deferment form to come in the mail.

Yeah, it really depends on who the loans got farmed out to. Like mine are with the Department of Education, but my brother's got taken care of by Wells Fargo. I'm pretty sure I've seen on the federal site a link dealing with deferment. If you go into your account on the federal loan website, on the left side there should be a link for "Deferment request."

Contact your lender or whoever will be handling your payments. Also, it might be a good idea to see if you can also go ahead and consolidate them so that you are only dealing with one bank.
