I don't write about China enough. I mean to, but my life here pretty day-to-day and full of me doing things that aren't in any way remarkable or exotic, and so sometimes I forget that life in China, and particularly Harbin, is so very different from life in the US ( Read more... )

What about language mix-ups, where you use the wrong word, and instead of making no sense at all, it means something completely different than what you meant. And just generally other language-y things.

Is it snowy or just cold? If snowy, do they still drive cars around in it or do people just trudge around in it?

Also, and please don't hate me for asking this, can you buy rubbers with hello kitty (or equivalent) patterns? (You know I'm not talking about raincoats, right?) Because that would be killer.

What video games are you playing? I saw you messed up FFX-2, but haven't checked with you lately.
