I'm just sad you have so much personal experience in this area! My son was on an antidepressant for a couple of years as treatment for his ADD rather than depression. I saw it worked marvelously for a time, and then it had the reverse effect -- it actually gave him depression -- so we took him off of it. I remember thinking at the time that it would be so hard for people who needed that medication for depression to have it stop working just when they thought they were maybe getting somewhere!
I am such a sloth, I never saw this! Sorry Margaret! <3
It's so odd that a medicine specifically designed to combat depression can actually wind up causing it; that's happened to me, too, which is why it switches around so much. I'd love to not have to use them at all, and there are alternatives - I've just always been on pills and never thought of other ways, but years upon years of pills can't be the answer, can they?
