show/tell them how good (and responsible) u've been - e.g studied hard, worked hard for school, didn't go shopping for sucha long time.

tell/hint them how Melbourne is waayyyy cheaper/better/safer than [insert a country or more here e.g spain, thailand].

get your family members (sister, cousins etc) or friends (that they are close/trust) to convince them (or help u to drop hints).

tell/convince 'em you've been to KLIA, Melbourne often enough to know how things are and to know your way around, n u can take care of yourself.

these are what I have on top of my head. good luck and all the best!

I joined the work and travel college program. just spending my 10 weeks hols working to pay my mom back the uber expensive flight tics to get here (practically in the middle of nowhere, nearby yellowstone park). I think I dah penat dengan states, I'm ready to head somewhere else next...melbourne perhaps? I've never been there! ;)

i seriously understand your situation. when i'm at home nak pegi genting/singapore with my friends/sister pun susah. sangat susah to the extent i gave up. but when i'm here they tend to worry less. lucky me! i'm not sure what i'm going to do next, i wanna work here actually but if i can't find a job/can't extend my visa i have to go back to malaysia so i make sure i'll make full use of my freedom now. i've went to spain, paris, cardiff and scotland. next week i'm going to italy ;) so the bottom line is, tell your parents you want to study abroad, even if it's only for one year. it's so worth it. your parents know my mom so tell them "even Aunty Rokiah pun hantar anak dia pegi UK for one year." hahahhahahahha :D

Alternatively,

you can just go for a JO-free diet for a while. (macam la lama sangat!)

You can call it "Puasa Jo"..

hahaha i'm still getting over the fact that you read my blog! :-P

your idea seems pretty good.... (wouldn't call it genius!)
however, i'm not liking the bit where i have to pay for three (now four coz sha pun nak sibuk!) extra tickets!
as my dad would say "ingat papa chop duit ke??" with the whole spotlight effect as well.
so yes. howww?

in fact, the jo-diet is sounding rather appealing now.. at least i won't be in debt for god knows how long! :-/
come lah we go to melaka instead?

ps: what's with the free advertising of your blog here?? banyak cantik! ahaha
