ahahah I knew something made me lol in ep 2 and I forgot what it was. It was Tariq's shark comment! Awesome.

No no, this is excellent. It sums up pretty much what I want to say. I am totally distancing myself from Lucas because I like S7 Lucas so much and "lose sight of the character they created in the first place" is a worry.

Nicola Walker is a genius and wonderful and I second the own show thing.

LOL, that line was brilliant. The deadpan delivery. The second mention of sharks in 2 episodes. ("He's ex-SBS, they fight sharks for fun" <3)

YEAH, I am distancing as well. I think this series is not going to be me grumbling over what shit they put Lucas in, but more about how amazing Ruth is and how adorable Tariq is, and how much I absolutely love Dimitri. I've just decided to embrace it for all its insanity and not complain. Though I will still have intelligent things to say, re Lucas/Harry/plotline etc, just more puzzling and not 'WTF, THIS IS CRAP' like some people do (and I did a bit last series).

This is not to say I think S9 isn't good: I love it, but there are, like always, THINGS.

She so should have her own show. What would it be about?

2&7. I'm waiting for an ep where Lucas takes the boys out on some midnight surveillance/recon op. Just so the 3 of them can bond over wire-tapping and Tariq can floor everyone with his geek skillz.

4. Lucas' storyline is getting to be physically distressing and feels dangerously close to ending in too much WTFery. *wants S7Lucas back* Though Iain Glen is a definite bright spot.

6. Ruth: Is heartbreaking, and absolutely brilliant at putting everything in perspective. I ADORE HER, she's beautiful and subtle and makes me stay for when this show gets ridiculous

2&7. LOL, YES. Though judging by that surveillance camera hacking scene in 9.02, Dimitri has geek skillz as well? But I'm basically enamoured with Tariq and Dimitri being bffs. BECAUSE I ADORE THEM BOTH. :D

4. I'm very not interested in this storyline. WTFery, indeed. And Maya....mergh. IDK, it's sort of like they've forgotten what S7 Lucas was like. There are little peices of him left that I can see, but they've turned this Lucas into an action hero. I'm... not apathetic, I'm just worried it's going to go very wrong.

6. YEAH, RUTH, YEAH.

2) I wish I could too, but I can't write him yet because I don't know enough about his character. But it would be so interesting!

3) I've warmed to her. :)

4) IDK, maybe the problem is the way it's being written, because I have this sort of version of canon in my head where certain things happen, and things are pieced together differently than what the show puts out, and when they don't match up, I get tetchy? Even though I know, of course they aren't going to match up completely. Because I am interested in the background of his character, Russia and the rest, but I want it to be written in a certain way that probably isn't going to happen.

5) HE'S MAD. HE'S ABSOLUTELY MAD.

7) YES. I would love some background! He is so underused, because he is so wonderful. *sigh*
