I seem to have a penchant for seriously effed up characters. *sigh* I really do think Andrea loved Nico, but found it better to be away from him completely than to worry for him all the time. She closes herself off, but she thinks she's being realistic. And really her and Nico are opposites. :( Her leaving changes Nico and the way he interacts with Paul, too, because Paul is so like Andrea. So he sort of distances himself, emotionally - he was so loving toward Andrea because she needed the reassurance, and he is a naturally gentle, optimistic person, but when she leaves I suppose some bitterness seeps in, when he's left with this child to care for. He resents her for it, but he doesn't ever not love her.
Sophia and Marc are a little bubble of happiness in this sea of angst. LOL.

*CUDDLES ALL MY CHARACTERS* I know. It's this incessant thought process, ngl. A/N are possibly the most tragic, taxing people I've ever had to write. Especially Andrea - she's so complex, and there's so much going on in her head... and she's very unforgiving to herself. But Nico is great too, because of how much he changes through the twenty years I've mapped out. Everyone has a story within a story which to some degree informs their actions within their present situations, don't they? So to me, giving these character context makes them feel all the more real.
HATTIE MORAHAN IS AWESOME. (Remember Sense & Sensibility w/ Dan Stevens? <3) But yeah, Sophia is very like Dimitri - they both have that nurturing, watchful nature - they look out for people. OMG, JUSTIN
