I choke Caitlin when I feed her. I have a forceful letdown and she has a hard time handling all the milk. What works for us is to feed laying down, or for me to lean back while feeding her so she's elevated above my breast.

I guess that might be different from what I was thinking. I thought it was sort of the same thing as too much foremilk... maybe it is, I'm not sure, but the remedies sound the same.

I hope you are right that he grows out of it soon,... the screaming is god awful!

marcus had such a small mouth when he was born that letdown would just choke him. I usually pumped w/ the handpump first then fed him. laying down with a towel under his head helped too. If it was too much for him he would just drool it out the side. With both kids I tried to get them to completely empty one breast per feeding so that they could get more hindmilk. It worked w. marcus but corinne could empty both each feeding.

Yeah, I've tried the pumping thing, but lately I feel like I have more milk than I can handle and pumping only makes that worse.

The sidelying position does seem to work tho. Ephram is a drool monger, too. :o)
