Just came from the Pedi. Ephram is 12lbs 13oz! What a monster! He is now in the 75th%tile for weight. Apparently, breastfed babes chunk up until 4 mos, and then they start to even out. She expects he'll be in the 90th%tile next visit. He's only the 25th%tile for length tho, he was 22 3/4 inches ( Read more... )

my breastfed baby stayed big. he's like 90th percentile for weight and over a 100 for height. he still nurses at 17 months and eats solids but not as much as i'd like!

How much are you nursing Max at this point? I plan on nursing Ephram over a year, and I'm curious as to how often they nurse once they are eating solids.
Is your partner a big guy? My husband is short, maybe like 5'7, so I think Ephram will be shorter, too.

I usually nurse max when he wakes up, and then at nap time, and then at bed time. he also nurses some during the night because he sleeps with me. Max would rather nurse than eat food which kind of concerns me at times because i worry he's not getting enough even though i know he's really fine.

Steve is tall, he is 6'3 and i am 5'6 or so. My daughter is also tall. i think max's bigness is genetics. he has big chubby little feet and big hands too.

here he is

OMG he is getting so big! He looks very tall in that picture, maybe partly due to the angle tho. So cute! Does he have any hair yet?

Yep, both my kids chunked up like that, although Sean stayed chunky untill he started walking. Caitlin is almost four months old now and weighs 15 lbs.

Yeah, I guess boys are usually bigger, even as infants. Did you cloth diaper Sean? When was he in mediums?

I didn't start cloth diapering Sean until he was almost a year old and he was in larges (still is). Caitlin is in mediums now and has been for about a month.

are my kids the only freak BF kids? i nursed marcus until he was 1.5 (would have done it longer but I was pregnant and having surgery. He decided he wanted to quit at that point. I still nursed him for a little while at night if I remember correctly). He dropped one nursing session a day when he started solids. He BF first waking, before nap time and at night.
corinne wanted nothing to do with breastfeeding after 9mths.

My friend had twins, and her little girl sat on her little boy's head for like 9 months...he ended up with some head asymmetry as well and they put him in a helmet. I was surprise how quickly that reversed the problem, it really is quite amazing!

haha. That is kind of funny. My Pedi has already threatened the helmet if it doesn't fix itself. Good to know that it will work if my efforts don't!
