LC self study

I've been thinking a lot about becoming a lactation consultant. I really want to be able to go back to work as soon as possible, and I'm not really jazzed on doing floor nursing or midwifery right now. I want something that isn't real stressful that I don't have to think about much while I'm home. And I really don't want to be on call. Becoming ( Read more... )

I've been there to look at the recommended reading list. I didn't notice the online courses, no. Do you know what header they are under?

that would be an awesome job. You would still have 1 foot in the field and still be able to be a quasi-SAHM. When I worked in maine the LCs used to run birthing classes. One of them I was friendly with she would work 1 evening a week doing a birth or new parent BF class and then she would work 1-2 hours a day in the post-part unit while her kids were in school and sometimes did home visits by appt. It sounded like the best of all worlds.
