The day he vetoed it, the White House issued a statement that he vetoed it because the president wanted to phase out the portion of the Children's Health Insurance Program which was providing health insurance to Adults (for example, parents of children.)

Bill Moyer's got a copy of the bill, looked it up, and their is a phase-out of that program (almost word for word for what the White House stated they wanted in the bill) in the bill W vetoed.

Not only doesn't he read through the bills he signs, he doesn't read through the bills he vetoes either!

as Jon Stewart said on the day the veto came down: "He's gone from bad president to evil cartoon villan. Like from president Nixon to Mr. Burns."
