I went hiking yesterday! Yes, indeedy-o. I know it's sad but I'm super proud of myself. It kind of feels like I've closed a chapter of my life, hopefully for good

I could only wish to such lovely scenery! And I got your last comment, I was so glad to hear from you! I am glad to hear you had a big adventure, it's so good to hear whne some people get ill, they don't let it stop them. I try to emphasize that to all my patients. "If you forever lie in that bed, you will never get up"
Being ill can really get your spirits down. I don't know much about the 'syndrome' you had ( which surprises me becuase I read a lot of medical books and research...but now I will look into it^_^) BUt I am so happy you are okay and hell, you did way more that me...I couldn't walk ( hike) half of the damn mountain!
Apparently it's quite rare but when I got the symptoms my doctor immediately thought it was GBS. I guess it's symptoms are unmistakable. It's a neurological, autoimmune disease. Sometimes infections (or vaccines) trigger a really strong immune response and your immune system attacks your nerve cells and they stop transmitting information. Over the course of a few days, I lost the power in my legs, then arms and then my other muscle groups. I had no reflexes and every day a load of med students would come in to bang my knees and elbows with their little hammer things! XD
