Tanaka Koki has been getting a lot of coverage these last few weeks, commending his admirable volunteer work helping out quake victims. Today though, he's coming under attack for being KY, and basically an asshole. Suprise surprise. (KY for anyone who may not know, stands for kooki yomenai, which means someone who can't read a situation

Probably the 'regular' was jealous over Koki chatting up the 'foreign guy'. ;-)

He may love to talk himself up, and gossip, and play hip hop on R&B night, but I don't think he's a bad guy.

I'm glad you included this part of your thoughts as well. I think Koki's a sweetheart, but I'm also not going to ignore he's a young male celeb. Koki wouldn't be, well, Koki without his oddities. {g} Annoying is a possibility {chuckle} ...but not mean/malicious.

I wouldn't put too much stock into those kinds of things since Koki, himself, said he doesn't go out much these days and he's not that stupid do that kinda crap anyway. When he does go out its usually to play a survival game with Junno and Maru or to hang with some actor or whatever.

While the group has been busy, I highly doubt Koki stopped visiting clubs. He was also with friends. Clubs can be a good way to unwind, have fun, and also get lost in the music. The rumour referenced he was barely chatting up the girls there; instead, he chatted up a 'foreign guy', which something (I can jokingly guess), made Koki back off and want to immerse himself in his 'comfort zone' (e.g. hip hop/dance), especially in front of his friends.

As you mentioned, gossip isn't necessarily fact, but the visual of a 'Diva Koki' somehow amused me. ;-) That and his vibrating rubber ducky and his ass tattoos! LOL!

Hmm...I can't see Koki spouting racial slurs and jokes though, I mean the guy is funny and he makes me laugh but he's not funny enough to pull off jokes of such a sensitive nature like that. I find it highly unlikely that he would make the dj switch the club theme like that and I doubt he's dumb enough to tarnish his reputation as well...if this a gossip rumor about Nishikido on the other hand, I'd be more inclined to put stock into some of it. Can you really see Koki doing any of that just to unwind? Koki knows enough of the English language to carry on a conversation with a foreigner ( if they are american) without feeling uncomfortable.

Alot of these rumors are often told and spread because of jealousy and envy as well most of them being too drunk to know what's actually going on around them.

No one said he was saying racial jokes anyways hun, I meant that I thought the story was going to be based around the talking with a foreigner and all that could go wrong with that, but it actually had nothing to do with it.

And I don't think any of this 'requesting hip hop on R&B night' is far fetched for Koki, or really tarnishes his club reputation, because as far as I know he has a pretty bad rep anyway for taking the lime light and spending the evening waxing poetic about his shoe size.

Like I said though, club etiquette aside I don't think he's a bad guy.
