*nods* I feel really bad for his family. I can imagine their lives pretty much centred on his. Without that they're going to be pretty lost for a while. I'm kind of hoping his wife is able to pick it up quickly so the kids can borrow her strength. From what I've seen of her, she should be able.
When I was doing outdoor ed we were snorkling off the Sorrento pier and disturbed a HUGE stingray. It was easily a metre across. It just happened to be resting on the sea-floor where we were moving through. A few people passed over without spotting it, but the instructor guy saw it and swiped a fin at it and it got up and shook itself off (it had been half buried in the sand) and swam away. They're amazing things.
