and all that hard work that i've been putting in the last few months just instantly became forgotten and my (unknown to me) shortcomings and i guess viewed as shoddy or lack of work was made known in a manner that shocked and hurt me. talk about ruining a day and more...just adds to the already there phsical, emotional and headache inducing

Sounds pretty lousy. You've been under a lot of pressure the past few months (seriously, what was the deal with 2009 and to an extent 2010 being such crap for just about everyone?!). Hand in there, as they say...
