One can get all the schooling he/she wants, but in the end it really just comes down to the actual work experience in order to get something accomplished.

This is so true.

I would like to offer a corollary:

Sometimes it requires schooling to get hired for a job, and work experience in order to do the job in the way that's expected of someone with your amount of schooling. :)

I agree. There is also a degree of character involved. If you don't have the right kind of character, then no matter what you experience, you won't actually learn from it.
