Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that. It sounds absolutely awful. Have you been to any "sleep specialists" or gotten tested for sleep disorders?

I don't know of any tried-and-true methods of sleep regulation other than going to bed at the same time every night regardless of how sleepy you are. This is supposed to reset your internal sleep clock, and establishes a rhythm that your body naturally begins to enforce. Who knows if it actually works...

I've got a friend with pretty bad insomnia who has this problem sometimes when he actually can fall asleep. I'll ask him what he does to combat it and see if he can offer any pointers.

Good luck catching more Zzzzzzs!

I haven't seen a sleep specialist yet because I've only started treatment recently. I want to give the drugs I alredy have just a *little* bit more time to prove themselves before I give up on them, lol.

... but then again, here I am sitting up at 2:20 AM. I took some medicine 2 hours ago that was supposed to knock me out within 30 minutes ;)

1) Tried the stay up thing (with no naps), and it doesn't work. I just get a second wind and end up going to sleep at the normal (unhealthy?) bedtime of 1-2 AM. It's also not bedtime *per se* that I'm worried about - it's totaly amount of sleep. As an experiment, I've gone to sleep at 2 and woke up at 7, and gone to sleep at 1 and woke up at 6. These are repeatable results ( ... )

it the length of time is repeatable, you could try this:

go to bed at 4AM, get up at 9, go to school, get home at 5PM, sleep till 10.

on the other hand, if you're satisfied with your progress, that's fine too.
