This exact thing happened to me before and that is why I hate going to the dentist.

Meh, I hated dentists to begin with. When you top the shit off with money stealing bastards with drills... makes it that much more scary... not to mention painful.

Sorry to hear about your dilema. I agree dentists suck! I got raped by my former dentist to the tune of about $1000. Some of it for deep cleaning work that didn't need to be done and the other $500 for my portion of a crown that did to be done.

In your case I would hint to the fact that you are thinking about talking to a lawyer and having another dentist do an investigation into whether the molar breaking was due to their negligence. Maybe they'll think twice about charging you to fix it.
