Incentives

Reading the Freakonomics blog today, I saw a great idea.  Basically, if there's something that you want to do, but you find yourself having a hard time committing to it, here's what you can do:

Set a weekly goal (like lose 1 pound a week, or go to the gym twice).
Put $500 up towards attaining that goal in the hands of a trusted third-party.

Hahahah! That cracks me up! I am all about alternative motivation.

My version of self motivation is setting lots of impossible goals and when you get fed up working on one, start on a different one.

Charlie used to do that, but with twice the money, but going to a neutral cause rather than to a hated one.
