Our big project for this trip was to attempt to complete the process to have our marriage legalized here in Thailand. When we were first married here in 2007, we didn't register it, as we were planning to get married in the US. That turns out to have been a mistake, as it is much more difficult to register a marriage here when you are married

If only we could um... "convince" government officials in the United States for what my calculations suggest is $5.68. lol. I'm so glad you jumped through all of your hoops... or, rather, I really hope you have. The government - regardless of what country - always seems to have extra hoops ready if necessary.

I remember....
My wife and I (both USians) got tired of having to do the "Visa Run" every 90 days and went to the Immigration office in Chaing Mai to ask what we could do.
They recommended we each marry a Thai national.
When we pointed out we were a couple, they said- "Doesn't matter. Both marry Thai people, all good".
Different cultures are different!
