Some names for features not important enough for the Board of Geographic Names to keep track of.

Whoah. Those are all WAY cooler than any geography we have around here. You owe it to us to ride to Paranoia Peak and report back on what you find.

Huh. I'll see if I can track down the dataset being pulled in. They're not in the GNIS Domestic Names, and they're (okay, unsurprisingly) not in Beckey vol 1's index.

I like "Lost Lake" next to "Loser Ridge".

If they're not officially recognized by the area responsible (e.g., Snoqualmie National Forest), perhaps the names are entered by hikers and such. Google uses a variety of databases, some of which are obvious (telephone and post office), others of which are likely Google trade secrets. Users can also add places to the Google Maps database, so it's possible hikers have done that.

From the forum on ListsofJohn, it appears that the site owner (John Kirk) maintains his own mySQL database of peak information. Perhaps there's a place on the forum that discusses where the data is from, or perhaps you could contact him directly and he'd tell you?
