Sorry if I am not commenting much. FIUTS orientation started on Thursday, and GPSS orientation has been going on all this week. Woohoo! that sounds like it would be a hell of a lot of fun to present on. You know, you should send something to the PCA/ACA. I went one year, and it was a good experience, even though they had me (a hacker sim) on a panel with nothing but war games.

It would be nice if there were more musical-technical people there. It's hard having to watch what you talk about, since basic music theory isn't a given. If there's enough people, they're always taking suggestions for panels.

I just had a brainfart. You know what would be an interesting panel sometime? Get you, me, some other people who're doing things in musics that aren't "classical," and discuss how to analyze music, when the analysis techniques aren't really designed for that specific music. (Like you can do Schenkerian analysis of themes from Morrowind, but it might not be the best way.) maybe pull in some people from Ethno, too. (I think Claire is still doing her thesis on trance.)
