it's been another busy week. and i keep forgetting to update.

so last friday, we decorated the living room and had a mini halloween party. mostly we ate food and the exorcist II, the most budget movie in the history of time, was on tv. fun times. i had to wake up mad early the next morning to head to boston. on the train, i ended up in front of the most annoying woman EVER who sounded like macy gray and was on the phone with random people bragging about how she was going to visit her son for the entire FOUR HOURS. my bro called me sometime during the ride, informing me that it would probably snow, which was not a very nice thing since that was entirely unexpected for october. i did not believe him at all. the ride up was really pretty, all the leaves were changing color and we went over so many bridges and it was just nice :)

i figure out the t when i get there, with a bit of help from laura and people who actually know what they're doing, and once i get off the subway it snows. a lot. except it wasn't all that cold, so that was kind of weird. i met some of my brother's roommates, got a nice tour of the sprawling bu campus, and bought both a t-shirt and hooded sweatshirt from the fancy bookstore. i need to get an nyu hoodie before i graduate. then we waited for a hundred years for the ghetto above-ground T to go to the prudential center, where we spent 45 dollars each on dinner. clam chowder, lobster bisque, raw oysters, grilled seafood, and coconut shrimp. really really really awesome and totally worth it :) then my brother spent more money on winter gear, including gloves from armani exchange, a purchase that made maria very happy.

then we got lost as we headed over to tufts in my car. we asked several people and got several different directions and finally made it. laura's play was interesting; great acting, great costume, bad play, weird mix of old and new things. but still a good time. and i ran into alex, that guy that laura made me hang out with in oxford, which was very nice. then laura's decides that we need to go to a halloween party. in a rush decision, she dresses me as carmen sandiego and we head off to yeu-jin's, who i haven't seen in FOREVER, and then a bunch of us headed over to a party at this house. it was weird being at a real college. at a real party. so many drunk people, my favorite being ilya, this guy who apparently knows laura and started talking to us about his girlfriend and how he misses her or some crap. at some point he says to laura, who's wearing a long black wig: "you look different." l:"i know, i'm wearing a wig." ilya: "not that...did you get face surgery?" i almost died laughing. then he pulls us both really close to him and is like "i have to tell you a secret! my girlfriend is really lutheran and didn't want to have sex with me, but last week she came and we DID! isn't that great?" i didn't even bother holding it in. mad good times. we went back after a very short time and then talked till 3 am. fun times.

sunday i got the tufts tour, which was lovely, and we went to a danish pastry shop for breakfast. awesome hot chocolate and apple things! then we headed back into boston and did the freedom trail. there is a very heavy emphasis on paul revere in boston. seriously, everywhere you look. so the freedom trail is this ridiculous red line like painted onto the street, or formed by bricks, starting at boston common and going all the way to bunker hill. three miles of fun times. we saw graveyards and guys dressed as minute men and paul revere's house and ate lobster rolls at quincy market and sat on a fake donkey and generally had an awesome time. minus those times laura sucked at life and started veering off the REALLY OBVIOUS freedom trail. best part was the uss constitution; we walk by this kiosk and this cute guy wearing an old time navy suit says hi to us. we say hi back and keep walking. we almost go on the ship, and then don't, and then laura really wants to pass by cute boy again. so we do, and he comes out of his little building and talks to us for like 20 min about random things. the navy. the ship. i don't even really know. he was all southern and adorable and yes and we each took a picture with him at the end :) we nearly died climbing the bunker hill monument after that, and laura unfortunately went to watch north country and i went to my AWESOME hotel room with a very large bed. and a yummy cookie. the lady at the front desk made friends with me and asked me all about why i was in boston, my interviews, and every time i went by she offered me a cookie. those cookies are yes.

next day i had an interview starting at 8 am, but it was a fun day. the admissions dean was yes and really eccentric and the lunch was good. of course there was one kid who REALLY pissed me off, but then again this should be expected by now. after having a minor panic attack with some girl about transportation at the end of the day, i made it back to my hotel and then started on a trek through boston, visiting the common, public gardens, newbury street, commonwealth ave, backbay fens, fenway park, and then walked all the way to harvard, passing by mit and it's REALLY obviously nerdy students along the way. then i came back down to the city to hang out with maria and her mom at the prudential center, where we had yummy pizza at cpk, and then, right after, had dinner AGAIN with my brother at this really awesome place called noodle street, after which i was obviously not in a normal frame of mind and fell down ONE STEP and severely twisted my ankle. to the point where i couldn't walk for a few minutes. my bro drove me back to my hotel and i hopped around and it was no and my ankle was REALLY swollen. but i got to watch bad halloween movies on the disney channel so it was ok.

tuesday morning i wanted to eat breakfast out of the hotel, so the concierge directed me to two diners that did not actually exist, which resulted in a 20 minute walk on my crippled leg that ended at mcdonald's, where i had my first mcgriddle. which was pretty amazing. interview was yes, i really liked limping around in my stupid heels and suit. i got hit on by a 32 year old arab guy while i was waiting for my interviewers, because really, if there is an arab guy in the room at least 10 years older than me that is BOUND to happen. at least he was kind of maybe attractive? well, he didn't look 30 at ALL, so i guess this is an improvement. and he was blond and i think i like that. weirdest part was that my roommate from camp FIVE YEARS AGO was there, and unfortunately we didn't have much of a chance to talk. very strange. and i ran into a few people from past interviews, which was also pretty weird. and maria was there, which made it even more interesting, but it was an awesome day and my tourguide was hot :). after that, i got my suitcase from the hotel and set out on a quest for boston cream pie, which i found in the north end and it was really amazing and large. i walked on my gimp leg to quincy market with my suitcase and had some clam chowder and then decided it would be a good idea to limp for a mile over to the train station. because i'm really masochistic. my ankle was SO SWOLLEN when i got home. but now it has gotten better and i am happy.

my return home was greeted by major italian club drama, which resulted in the resignation of the treasurer, and of course that was really fun.

after upward bound yesterday, maria and i went on a quest to find stuffed animals in scrubs and after nearly being killed at times square and toys r us we ended up at build-a-bear, where maria and i spent like an hour choosing our animals, a bunny for me and a black bear for her, stuffing them, getting yelled at by random storepeople, being really anal about the perfection level of our choices, dressing our new best friends, and doing ridiculous things like making wishes and a birth certificate. but it was good times and i enjoy dr. bunny immensely.

i really don't want to study. bleh.
